What is Daiso Japan? Why is Daiso so popular?
Daiso is a Japanese discount store that has around 6,000 locations worldwide including branches in America, Australia, Taiwan and South Korea.
Daiso was founded in 1972, selling thousands of products for just 100 Japanese Yen each.
In a word, Daiso has nice household items at very low prices – at Daiso Japan you can buy everything from cute cat outfits to epic egg timers.
With over 6,000 Daiso stores around the world (and the vast majority of Daiso stores in Japan), shopping at Daiso and searching for bargains has become a retail right of passage.
These days, it has over 100,000 products and Japan has the most Daiso stores in the world (over 3,000 Japan branches) followed by South Korea, Thailand and the Philippines.
The big question is – what products to buy in Daiso Japan? Read on and discover Daiso’s treasure trove of top trinkets and toys:

1. Onigiri Bath Bombs
Ready for some sushi shaped soap suds – normally we wouldn’t encourage taking food into the bath but it is OK when it is a Daiso Japan onigiri bath-bomb.
Not only does it create bubbles, but there is a hidden mascot inside the onigiri bath bomb which appears as the soapy sushi dissolves – we think this is one of the best bathroom products in Daiso Japan!
Incidentally, Daiso also sells croissant bath bombs if you want to pretend to drop some bread in the bath or Komeda coffee cup bath bombs – we promise we are not making this up (the pictures are proof)!

2. Mini animal skewers and transport picks
Another cute but practical utensil is the sandwich skewers – they come in packs of 8 to 10 skewers and aim to make your lunch look pretty or differentiate similar looking food types.
Our favourites are the picks shaped like trains or the animal lunch series which includes a panda pick – it almost makes your lunch too pretty to eat.

6. Daiso Japan egg timers
One of the first viral Daiso products we can ever recall reading about is the Daiso egg timers.
Literally an egg shaped floating device that you pop into boiling water, it tells you when is the perfect time to take out eggs based on your eggy preference (either soft, medium and hard).
All in all, a rather ingenious and eggs-cellent Daiso product (sorry not sorry).

From tenmusu and takoyaki toys to onigiri and okonomiyaki playthings , Daiso Japan has the best range of dog, cat and pet products ever – I mean where do we start?!
Dog toys shaped like Japanese food are pretty cool but what about little hats for cats and dogs.

If you are a dog or cat owner, be prepared to end up wanting everything from the Daiso pet product section as it is all amazing.

9. Children’s training chopsticks
Before kids in Japan can eat oodles of noodles or taste Tsukemen, they have to learn how to use chopsticks.
Daiso has animal themed training chopsticks for kids so they can learn to use them without constantly dropping the sticks on the floor.
You can get dinosaur training chopstick holders, pandas or even bears.
