Time to take a trip to Tokyo’s famous Odaiba Unicorn Statue!
Odaiba is known for its crazy attractions and theme-park style attractions – it should come as no surprise then that Odaiba is also home to a giant Gundam RX-0 Unicorn / mecha statue which moves and lights up in the evening.

20 metres high and a towering presence, this massive mecha model is a lifesize RX-0 Unicorn Gundam replica that springs into life every hour, gathering a huge crowd.
The model moves and changes between its Unicorn and Destroyer modes plus there are seasonal / limited edition shows to promote Gundam releases.
From show times to how to get there, here is our Odaiba Tokyo Gundam statue guide.

Where is the Tokyo Gundam statue / public transport
The giant Gundam statue is located in Odaiba, outside the DiverCity Tokyo Plaza – as it is outdoors, please ensure you dress appropriately especially if it is raining or cold in Tokyo when you visit.
The nearest stations to the Odaiba Gundam Unicorn model are Daiba Station on the Yurikamome line (around 5 minutes on foot) or the Tokyo Teleport Station on the Rinkai Line – around 3 minutes on foot.

How much is it to see Unicorn Gundam statue
Amazingly, it is free to see the Odaiba Gundam statue – you don’t need tickets or reservations but do get there early if you want to be up front as the crowds can be quite busy, especially at the weekends.

Yes, unlike the previous Yokohama Gundam attraction and Osaka Expo Gundam (now both closed), this Gundam is gratis / totally free to see!
You can see it day and night (but we think it looks more stunning when lit up in the evenings) – combine it with seeing the equally huge Statue of Liberty which you can also see for free in Odaiba. We rate is as one of our favourite weird and wonderful Tokyo attractions.

Gundam show times in Odaiba
Perhaps ‘show’ is a bit of a misnomer as not a lot really happens but it is the sheer scale of the Gundam statue that is the ‘Wow’ factor.
The display is basically Gundam moving and changing between its Unicorn and Destroyer modes. To be honest, unless you are a mega mecha fan, the Unicorn Gundam statue ‘transformation’ isn’t that great.

The main change is the Unicorn mode has a huge spike / horn on its head whilst the Destroyer mode has extra lights. Oh and there is some ‘mist’ and additional noises – again, not amazing but it is free so definitely worth experiencing it if you are in Odaiba.
The Odaiba DiverCity Unicorn Gundam Statue ‘show’ / performance happens daily at Unicorn Gundam Statue at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.

At night, the Unicorn Gundam Statue transforms every 30 minutes (6 shows every evening) from 7pm to 9.30pm and each half-hour transformation is different.
New for 2025, the 7pm show is now “Gundam Series 45th Anniversary Special Movie”. Gundam Odaiba show times are correct as of November 2025.
The current Gundam Unicorn 2025 performances are as follows:
9:00 “Gundam Series 45th Anniversary Special Movie”
19:30 “MidNight CHA CHA”
20:00 “MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN Special Movie” Ver.2.0
20:30 “FLY! GUNDAM 2017”
21:00 “MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN PERFECTIBILITY”
21:30 “GUNDAM:BEYOND”

The Gundam Base Tokyo at Odaiba
Whilst in Odaiba, Gundam fans should also check out The Gundam Base Tokyo” inside the DiverCity Tokyo mall. Here you can buy everything from kit sets to t-shirts, even Gundam snacks and cookies.

Please note on busy days, a queuing system may be in place where you have to line up for a ticket to enter during a timed slot.
The Gundam Base Tokyo is open from 11am to 8pm on weekdays and from 10am to 9pm on weekends.
Plan My Japan – if you are a Gundam geek and spend more than 5,000 Yen on Gundam goods, there is a tax refund counter on the lower floor (near the exit to the Gundam Unicorn statue).
