What is a Miffy Kitchen Bakery?
A kaleidoscope of Kawaii and colourful cooking items, Miffy Kitchen Bakery brings to life Dick Bruna’s Miffy the Rabbit character, both in terms of blissful bakery items like Miffy cubes and red bean buns, plus a huge line of branded cookware and sublime souvenirs.
As you enter the Miffy Bakery Kitchens, the sweet smell of desserts and tasty treats wafts through the store – watch the chefs bake fresh products in-store then browse all the Kawaii kitchenware.
We were lucky enough to visit the Miffy Kitchen Bakery / Miffy Kurano Kitchen & Bakery in Kurashiki (near Okayama) and it was a delight from start to end.

What can you buy in Miffy kitchen stores?
First off, based on the stores we’ve visited, Miffy Bakery isn’t a full on themed cafe and sit-down experience, like Kirby Cafe.
There is only one such Miffy Cafe – the Miffy Cafe Kamaishi in Omachi (see it here on Google Maps).
Miffy Kitchen Bakeries are more about souvenir shopping plus takeaway sweet treats – some of the Miffy Bakery products we spotted on our trip to Kurashiki Miffy Kitchen Bakery include:
Fresh food and bake at home bread
- Miffy Den Cubes – 335 Yen and available in various flavors like peach or green tea with chocolate
- Miffy shaped hot cross buns
- Miffy sweet red bean buns – 324 Yen
- Miffy chocolate bread in tins – 864 Yen
- Maple bread – 864 Yen

If you are a Miffy fan and love cute Miffy merchandise, the best advice we can give is to pack a big empty suitcase to take all these gorgeous gifts home – or maybe just buy a cheap one from Don Quijote.
From kitchen gloves to pots and pans, magnets to mugs, there are literally hundreds of different Miffy souvenirs to buy in all shapes and sizes – your kitchen and home will look like a rabbit hole after buying all this.
One of our favourite Miffy Kitchen merchandise ranges was the Miffy bread gifts – mimicking the Miffy shaped bread and buns you can buy / eat instore, they’ve also created a range of souvenirs that look like bread – so cool!

Who is Miffy the Rabbit?
Miffy is a BIG business in Japan and it is home to many Miffy shops, pop-ups and souvenirs.
From Miffy flower shops to a Miffy Cafe, this is one ravishing rabbit, originally created by Dutch artist Dick Bruna. Miffy was first created in 1955 and has featured in countless books and cartoons.
Miffy is a female rabbit and based on a real bunny that Bruna spotted on vacation, which he then turned into a series of bedtime stories for his son.
Miffy is very popular in Japan, other parts of Asia plus HUGE in the USA.
