A free Tokyo Christmas market, Christmas at Azabudi Hills returns for 2025 from 22 November.
One of Tokyo’s newest shopping and residential areas, Azabudai Hills hosts their very own Christmas Market with around 20 food and drink / gift stalls from Japan and Europe.

We went to the Azabudai Hills Christmas market last year and it was good fun, especially given the shopping center itself is pretty swank – we rate it as one of the best malls in Tokyo.
Easily combineable with the Roppongi Hills Christmas lights and market a 15 minute walk away, here is our fun festive guide to Azabudi Hills Christmas Market.

How to get to Azabudi Hills
Azabudai Hills 麻布台ヒルズ is located directly above Kamiyacho Station on the Hibiya Line.
To get to Azabudi Hills from Tokyo Station by public transport only takes 18 minutes – take the Marunouchi Line Local towards Ogikubo from Tokyo Station platform 1 to Kasumigaseki Station. Change for the Hibiya Line Local towards Naka-Meguro on platform 3 and alight at Kamiyacho station.
It is also easy to take the bus from Shibuya to Azabudi Hills.

We’d also recommend starting at Azabudi Hills Christmas Market then walking over to the Roppongi Hills Christmas Illuminations around a 15 minute walk away. There is also a Christmas market at Roppongi Hills, however the Azabudi Hills market is actually much bigger (and better themed).

What to expect
Azabudi Hills is one of Tokyo’s newest shopping malls and residential areas – with luxurious brands like Hermes and The Conran Shop, it is a premium shopping center with some amazing cafes and restaurants.

Azabudi Hills is also home to a branch of teamLab Borderless; in the MORI Building Digital Art Museum.
Given how magnificent and upmarket the mall is, they also know how to deliver a classic Christmas market full of festive treats and decadent desserts.
The Azabudi Hills Christmas Market 2025 returns bigger and better than ever before – we were lucky enough to go to their first ever Christmas market in 2024.

When we visited, highlights included panettone cake sold in tins designed by Dolce and Gabbana, a Sapporo take on German Christmas food plus a vegan stollen and soup stall.

There were also lots of international food stalls like fish and chips and German Christmas desserts – the European alpine style theming was done rather well.
Central Walk, which connects Kamiyacho Station Square to Tower Plaza, is usually decorated as a special ‘Christmas Street’ with lots of selfie spots.

Other things to do
On December weekends at Azabudai Hills, you can meet Father Christmas, enjoy Christmas caricatures and performances by balloon artists.
In 2025, the Azabudi Hill Christmas Market will have 17 festival pop-ups and alpine style huts, including 5 retail stores and 12 food and beverage outlets.
A Christmas fir tree (in champagne gold no less) will be the centerpiece of the 2025 Christmas celebrations.
